Helping Students

Empowering Youth. Equipping Parents. Advocating Together.
About us
Welcome to the Urban-Reeducation
We strive to champion youth and families through individualized advocacy that honors identity, fosters inclusion, and creates opportunity. We focus on breaking down barriers, building leadership, and empowering change–one family, one story at a time.

Partnering With Educators to Empower Every Student
In classrooms across the country, many students struggle not because they lack ability–
but because they lack voice or the tools to access learning on their terms. At Urban Re-education, we work alongside educators to bridge this gap. Our mission is to equip students with the skills to advocate for themselves, understand how they learn best, and build resilience in the face of challenges beyond their control. Through individualized education plans and collaborative support, we help educators, parents, and students create a shared path toward meaningful success. Together, we foster environments where every student is not just taught—but truly reached.

Meet the Founder:

Coach Salter
From Experience to Empowerment
Urban Re-education was born from lived experience, resilience, and a deep passion for change. Its founder, Darren Salters—known to many students as Coach—grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey, where he faced the very struggles that countless inner-city youth encounter every day. Rather than let his misfortunes define him, Coach used it as fuel to transform his life—and now, to transform the lives of others.
His firsthand journey through hardship, silenced voices, and overlooked potential gives him a unique and powerful perspective. Coach doesn’t just understand the challenges students face—he’s lived them.

Community Partnerships
Urban Re-education is newly established on paper—but it’s grounded in over 40 years of hands-on youth mentorship. Founded by Coach Darren Salter, whose life journey mirrors those of the students we serve, our mission is rooted in authentic connection and lived experience.
We’ve already begun partnerships with organizations like Grove Phi Groove SFI (WVSUA Chapter) and Promise Neighborhood, and we’re actively seeking schools and community partners who share our passion for uplifting inner-city youth. If your work centers around equity and student empowerment, we’d love to connect and collaborate.
